We Need Your Help
Dear blog post friends, we need your help.
The Iowa Network Against Human Trafficking and Slavery has spent the last 11 years opening Iowan’s eyes to the true magnitude of the sex and labor trafficking industries and how they operate in our state.
The Network recently reported to you that on November 17th, 2017, an Urbandale, Iowa man received a sentence of life in prison for child sex trafficking. In October, we reported that a Waterloo couple plead guilty to child sex trafficking and are currently awaiting sentencing. But tragically, for every trafficker brought to justice, others freely go about their profitable and sinister business of selling a victim’s body, mind, soul and dignity. In addition, the perverse customers who purchase and sexually abuse Iowa’s victims largely goes unnoticed and unpunished. Obviously, we have a lot of work to do.
As we approach the end of the year, we invite you to support the important mission of the Iowa Network Against Human Trafficking and Slavery. The Network’s operating budget depends on the generosity of private donors such as you. The Network receives no state grants or federal funding. All of our work is carried out by dedicated volunteers.
The Network was the first, and remains the only, statewide nonprofit devoted exclusively to fighting human trafficking in all its forms. We serve as a platform for collaboration among non-profit service providers, regional coalitions, state agencies, the faith community, law enforcement, and volunteers working to end modern day slavery.
