Sojourners in the battle against human trafficking:
Please sign our latest petition to help fund the new office on Human Trafficking, established in the Iowa Department of Public Safety with Governor Branstad’s signing of SF2191. AS OF FRIDAY, the House of Representatives has the opportunity to provide $200,000 to this office to fund two full-time staff who are dedicated to combatting human trafficking in Iowa. How? All they need to do is pass the amended version of HF2458. What does this amended bill do? It waives the requirement for this year that DPS contribute $200,000 to a vehicle depreciation fund, thus freeing up this funding to hire two dedicated staff for their new Human Trafficking office.
Please sign this petition NOW, as our Representatives are voting Monday morning!
Also, please contact your Representative by email or phone, NOW! A link to their contact information is in the petition, and also here:
