Important News and Actions to Take

Greetings to the Network blog post subscribers. Several important news items to share with you.

We will soon be sending out a call for volunteers to be trained to conduct an educational program for hotel/motel employees. All the details and registration for the training of trainers will be sent to you next week. We are partnering with the Nebraska Coalition on this training. The first training of trainers will be in Des Moines on Wednesday, September 13th from 6-9pm and the second opportunity will take place in Cedar Rapids on September 25th. Other volunteer training locations in Iowa will be announced later. Once you complete this training, you will be asked to conduct employee training at a minimum of 3 hotels/motels.

There is also a Human Trafficking conference (PDF brochure) opportunity in Ames, featuring the former U.S. Ambassador Combating Trafficking and Slavery Worldwide. The Network nominated Luis CdeBaca for an outstanding Alumni Humanitarian Award which will be presented here in Ames on October 30th.
