Human Trafficking Prevention and Awareness Month Supplies Drive

There are a number of shelters in Iowa that care for the survivors of human trafficking that are in dire need of supplies to help their clients feel more comfortable. The Iowa State Network Against Human Trafficking is collecting supplies to help ensure that these survivors have what they need. Shelters are in need of games, puzzles, art and scrap-booking supplies, grocery gift cards, crafts, and feminine hygiene products. There will be donation boxes located inside the Memorial Union, The Margaret Sloss Women’s Center, and the atrium of Horticulture Hall for the entire last full week of Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month (January 23-27). There may be other locations as well so keep an eye on our Facebook for announcements. The items will be donated to Dorothy’s House in Des Moines and Wings of Refuge in Iowa Falls. Please do your part to help the victims of this heinous injustice!
